Astonishing hike along the Areuse River

This astonishing hike through the Areuse gorge takes you through forests and meadows along the river, with several narrow sections with dramatic cliff walls. It’s a long hike at 11km, but mostly downhill and not difficult. At least 3 hours of walking, plus lunch and breaks. This is an easy hike with about 340 m of elevation gain.

 

We aim to take the train from Boudry back to Noirague at 15:38 or 16:38 (depending on the pace of the group) to reach the cars and arrive in Geneva around 18h30/19h30

Price : 10 CHF

Carpooling : 20 CHF + 3.10 or 6.20 CHF train ( Half price/normal ticket) back to get to the cars.

To sign up please send an email specifying whether you have a car and how many seats you have available, or whether you need a lift or will go by train.

  • Meeting time:  Sunday 13th September @ 9H30.
  • Meeting place: Parking Nations – Rue Varembé – 1202 Genève
  • Equipment: Good hiking shoes, raingear, sunglasses, sunscreen, poles (optional).
  • Please bring: Picnic and at least 2 litres of water.
  • Check your inbox the day before: by 4 pm, I will send a message to update you on the logistics, also depending on weather conditions.

 

If too few cars are available t we will go by train.
In this case I will send an update on Friday evening or Saturday morning with the details of the meeting point and time.
